Corporate Training Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. When I try to view a module, all I get is a black screen. What's wrong?

This can be remedied by downloading the latest version of Flash 6 Player. Check to see if you have Flash 6 Player by going to the HELP Section of your Training Site. If you see the "rotating bur animation", then you have Flash 6 Player. If not, click the link to go to the Macromedia web site where you can install the latest Flash Player for FREE.

Installing the newest Flash Player will not affect any of your current computer settings. If you already have an earlier version of Flash Player, it will be automatically updated.

2. I cannot create my account on my training site. I entered my company code, my email and password but it still won't let me in!

The first time you visit the site (when you initially create your account) you should only enter your company code. Only when the registration page appears, should you then enter your email and password. Upon future logins, do not enter your company code-only enter your email and password. Your Company Code is for first time visitors only.

3. I have successfully created an account on my training site but I am unable to login again.

  • Make sure you are entering the exact same email you entered when you first created your account.
  • Check your password for accuracy.
  • Make sure you are not logging in through your Favorites within your Outlook or Outlook Express Mail program.
If you use the Favorites list in your email program to access the Internet, your training site will not recognize your login information. You need to access the Internet directly through Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.

4. When I try to view a module, I sometimes get the message "unauthorized viewer." What am I doing wrong?

This message appears if the user is trying to view the module through their AOL browser as opposed to Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. The user needs to minimize the AOL window, and access the Internet directly through Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.

NOTE: Users MUST use Internet Explorer to access the Internet in order to view the modules. The modules will NOT play properly, or at all, using Netscape.

5. I am using a dial-up connection to access the Internet and I experience buffering before certain slides. What can I do?

If you are using a dial-up connection (56k Modem) you may experience "Buffering" during preloading and in between certain slides. Buffering occurs when specific content of the module has not reached yet reached your computer and is needed for a specific slide.

The best way to solve this problem is to utilize cable or DSL Internet access. If this is not an option, here is the next best solution: PRELOAD ENTIRE MODULE WHILE YOU TAKE A BREAK Here's how to do it!

  1. 1. Wait for completion of the initial preload buffering period (usually no more than 90 seconds). As soon as you hear the music, preload buffering is complete.
  2. 2. Click on the PLAY button and take a break while the module plays to completion. Depending on your 56k connection, this may take 12-19 minutes.
  3. 3. When you return from your break, the module will now be preloaded for you. Simply click on the rewind button.
  4. 4. Now you can watch the entire module without interruption.
Remember not to close the lecture console window until you have watched the entire presentation, or else you will have to repeat the process again.

6. I've already created an account. When I try to log back on and enter my company code and login information, I am not able to get in. What's wrong?

Your company code should ONLY be used the very first time you create your account. After you enter your company code at your first visit, you will be taken to a registration page, where you will enter your corporate email address* and a password of your choice. In the future, when you return, you need only enter your email and your password, NOT the company code. If you forget your password, we can email it to you, but only if you entered your correct email address!

*Please take the time to check your email address very carefully, as all of our correspondence with you will be through the email address that you enter when you first create your account.
